Android Central Question

error "something went wrong, try again"

because 4.4.2 is end of life????? I have cleared play app cache.

As hallux mentioned, it could be related to how outdated the system is.

Try going to Settings>Apps, select Google Play Store, tap Storage, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Do the same for Download Manager -- you probably have to tap Menu>Show System to see it. Now try again.

Sorry for the problem with posting -- the forum software was automatically flagging your posts for moderation, for some reason. This kind of thing happens sometimes with new members.

Welcome to Android Central! Who's the manufacturer of the device? It looks like a no-name or off-brand device direct from China. These devices pretty much never have official updates. It might be giving you that error message because it can't find the update server (since there is no update server).

This for the answer.
No my answer is it's ancient! The one you quoted me was to compare how far off that Android version is .

It's not even safe to put your data on that device.

Apps are not compatible anymore
Carrier's won't support to use on their network.

Move on from that device is best answer possible.
