YouTube "playing" notification on lock screen

[Android Central Question]

I'm pretty sure A11 allowed me to control my background playing YouTube on my lock screen. Now with A12 I just see YouTube icon and that's it.
Is there a way to make notifications work just like in A11?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps, select YouTube, then Notifications. Is Lock Screen Media Controls turned on?

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to continue this discussion in Android 12 board but moderator closed that thread and told me to continue here
Anyway, I do have everything checked in YouTube notification settings. Doesn't help

Do you have YouTube Premium? If you don't, it might not let you control things in the background: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6308116?hl=en#zippy=,background-play

Yes I do. I used it daily with A11.
It must be a bug and I'm sure Google support will ask me to factory reset.
Found another bug too.. side volume slider is stuck at lowest setting with "off" icon no matter what my actual volume is.

Did you already test these in Safe Mode as well? YouTube should work in Safe Mode, since it's preinstalled.
