Pixel usb c earbud problem

[Android Central Question]

Pixel 6 here with pixel usb-c buds. Listen to music with Omnia. Sometimes I have skip track control with the headset sometimes don't and get the assistant instead. Any thoughts?

Welcome to Android Central! It may have to do with how you're pressing the center button. Skipping a track is a double press, and accessing Google Assistant is a long press. If you're double-pressing the button too quickly, it might be interpreting it as a long press. Try slowing down your double press.
