My insurance company says that they will pay me for a Moto g8 power lite as an equivalent 'like for like' replacement.
I'm not happy with that but don't have the expertise to do a comparison to be able to suggest a closer like for like option..
Has to be available in Australia.

The newer model has a lower res display but it's larger in size; the SoC in either is a wash -- Mediatec with faster clock speed vs Qualcomm; similar amounts of RAM and internal storage; slight advantage in camera MBs in the older phone but more camera modules (three) in the newer; slightly more cellular and WiFi radio support in the older phone; significantly larger battery capacity in the newer model. There are other minor contrasts too of course but unless one or more particular differences are something that you find to be a deal-breaker, that offer they're suggesting appears to be a pretty equal contrast. If you don't want that G8, could you negotiate just having them pay for part of the cost of a phone you do want to buy?
Laura Knotek and J Dubbs like this.
