Why am I getting so many duplicate texts?

[Android Central Question]

I've been getting duplicate texts from the last two and a half months, to the point that I'm now getting over 300 texts per day, rendering my messages app useless. I've tried soft and hard resets, along with a factory reset and backup, but the issue won't stop. They're all texts I've received before and dated the day I got them originally. In my messages app, these texts are also duplicated, so there's a wall of the same exact text over and over. How do I make it stop?
