How can I exit emergency callback mode on my Nokia 2.4

I presume this was a result of calling an emergency number? My experience has been that it is only for a designated time, it should return to normal after that time has expired. This is done to ensure that emergency services can call you back if they need further location or other updated information.

Hi, i have a nokia 2.4 phone. It has turned on an emergency callback mode,,,how do i stop it

Emergency callback mode turn off

No, it is not because of calling an Emergency number, at least in my case & others on the as per the Nokia community. It became a problem after the restart of installing the latest Update! I can not figure out if it is an Nokia or Android problem, because the update was done automatically while the phone was connected to WiFi and power. When I picked-up the phone it requested a restart to finish the update. I sort of automatically perform the restart process without investigating the update details - therefore I am clueless where to report the issue.
Any help will be highly appreciated because I need an Internet connection while on the road away from my Home WiFi.

I tried Methodman's sugesstion.
As follows:
Make sure no app is runng; press power botton for black screen; remove sim card tray; press & hold power button; tap power icon then tap restart icon; wait for reboot to complete; the unit started Ok but not the Phone portion - no emegency message.
Insert simcard tray fully; as soon as sim was recognised the emegency push notification/Alert arrives and then the "Phone is starting..." mesg appears.
Method is a No-Solution.
It is 'Phone Services' that do the Emergence Alert. Is 'Phone Services' an App, background process or what???

I found solution - for my phone at least.
I removed the SIM Card Lock on both SIM's in the phone, restart it and on reboot the Emergency Callback is GONE....... I was connected to Internet with WiFi OFF!
Then I add the SIM Card Lock again to SIM2 only; reboot; and Emergency Callback was there again.
So, temporary bad news for our security conscious users.

My Nokia 2.4 also have the same issue. This is after updating it yesterday.I cant cant choose my own mobile provider network on data.when I insert another network provider it works

A solution is available, I guess. I created a user profile here just to ensure you guys don't tear your hair out 😉.

1. The earlier observation that it was because of having a locked SIM is very likely correct. I refuse to forego that protection (my bank account is linked to a SIM card therein and cloning is rampant in my country, for unprotected cards). So that simply wasn't an option for me.

2. I booted into safe mode and found that the issue did not come up. (Safe mode only loads the android OS without extras and your installations running.) All seems to run well. Thus, nothing with the basic telephony system was wrong or the culprit: GOOD NEWS!

3. Booting back into normal mode, the issue started again (as I expected).

4. A key effect of the problem is that any attempt to apply the airplane mode triggers that "emergency" message with a concurrent inability to actually get the airplane mode to take effect.

6. To solve this
A) Use the tray pin to eject the SIM tray while the phone is still running.

B) The rogue scripts that are interfering thus go dormant.

C) Now, apply the airplane mode. It will work now. I was simultaneously connected to my Bluetooth headset (and listening to music) when I did this, so I don't know if this is also exactly needed to effect this "cure" (though I don't think so).

D) With the airplane mode active, reinsert the SIM tray. Wait for a while (I left it for about 3 minutes).

E) Remove the airplane mode and see if the signals would be restored without the "emergency" error.

I tested, severally, putting on the SIM data mode, reapplying and removing the airplane mode. No issues.

I suspect that the sequence described above may need to be repeated whenever one reboots (which, since done —by me anyways— just about once weekly, is bearable).
