If you're comfortable managing apps on your iPhone, it's the same basic concept with your Android phone. One thing to keep in mind is ignore most of the crap you're apparently reading online. Almost all of it is just click-bait articles, fear-mongering, and trolls intentionally spreading misinformation, and only a little actual substance. Google's Play Store has a very look and feel than Apple's App Store but really, in the end you have a smartphone with a display that lights up and there are all kinds of icons that you tap on to launch different apps. Your new Android phone may seem to be a bit daunting but that's only because it's a different platform that you just need to get familiar with. A lot of the apps are unique to Android, but a lot them will be the same as on your iPhone (same name, same icon and will have connectivity to the same user account online). Odds are a lot of those apps you don't recognize are just the Android equivalents to an iPhone (different name, different icon, but doing a similar function). But your query is quite vague, please be more specific about just which apps you're not sure about.
