Unable to connect to network at startup

[Android Central Question]

Brand new Chromebook stating "network not available" at setup. Entered Chromebook as a guest and went through crosh with "autest" to force update but will not update. Did a powerwash and still is not able to get it to update. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Which Chromebook? Are you certain it was brand new, or could it have been refurbished or used?

You're certain wi-fi is on? Have you tried connecting to various different wi-fi networks?
