How do I get rid of the face of the top of my phone when I'm talking on my earpiece

It makes ugly faces at me and gets lines through it and I don't know what it means but it looks horrible and I don't like it can we get rid of it?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? How can you tell it's making ugly faces at you if you're talking on the earpiece (i.e., have the phone held up against your ear)? Or when you say "earpiece", are you talking about wireless earbuds?

I don't know about asking it politely, it sounds like it might be time for some phone disciplinary action... maybe ground it and take it's human away for a week
