Just got the moto edge plus 2022 a couple weeks ago and not sure what I did (or not did) but now my camera app icon has an orange-ish background...??? Any ideas on what I did? Thank you!

Thank you Mustang7757...yes, the camera app icon/small pick that's on your screen that when touched opens up the camera...not sure what else to call it besides the icon...anyway, I am attempting to upload the screenshot...

This may be a long shot but did you also recently install the Camera app from Simple Mobile Tools? Simple Mobile Tools provide a number of very good, alternative apps and its default color for its product line is orange.

A nice aspect with Simple Mobile Tools apps are they're very configurable, often including the ability to allow the user to pick and use their own, preferred color scheme for the app icon and its menus. Go into the Camera app's Settings menu to adjust it to suit your needs, and change colors if you want to.

But otherwise, yeah please post a screen shot. Do you recall what color the camera app icon was previously?

Ahhh, you posted your screenshot as I wrote my reply. Never mind my replay anyway. That's not the Simple Mobile camera app icon.
But have you looked in the Camera app's Settings menu for any option that might be related to color for the icon? When you look in the Settings >> Apps menu and locate the Camera app in the listing, is its icon also with that orange cast?

No, I don't use any themes of icon packs...it's just odd that it was white like all the other standard apps for the first couple weeks I had this phone and all of a sudden it's now orange...thanks for looking at

Thanks...yeah, I've gone through all the settings on the camera to see if something is turned on and no luck...it's just weird it had the standard white background for the first couple weeks and then all of a sudden it's orange...I didn't know if that indicated it's recording or something (it's not that I can tell)...anyway, thanks for looking at it

It does indeed look like it’s recording, or using microphone, or something.
Try a Power Off & Restart.

Thank you - and yes, it's got the orange background everywhere I can find it (drawer, going into "all apps", etc.)

Try checking if your Camera app was updated about a couple of weeks ago, when you started seeing that app icon change. Perhaps it was caused by some typical, background app update. App updates involve a lot of random variables -- some are bug fixes, some are security patches, some are user interface changes, and some are mix of any of the three.
If you long-press on the Play Store icon, in the resulting contextual menu that pops up tap on 'My apps', then in the resulting 'Manage apps..' window there should be an 'Overview' and a 'Manage'. Tap on 'Manage' then scroll down through the list to the Camera app entry and tap on that. Under 'What's new' should show 'Last updated November xx, 2022'

That's a bit of a headscratcher. If the phone has an option for icon theming, try changing that around a few times, then go back to default, and see if it corrects.

There was just a camera update...did it and nothing has changed - when I go to the info on the camera app via the Play store it's a Moto Camera 3 app...there was an option to contact them so I sent them an e-mail...we'll see...next step may be to just uninstall and reinstall...as the icon in the Play store has the plain white background...good times...thanks all again

I find it very confusing that there's a Motorola Camera, Moto Camera, Moto Camera 2, and Moto Camera 3 in the Play Store.

Like i mentioned it was a update that changed it , you can try a different icon pack to make everything sync using Nova launcher
