Waiting until *contact* is online ...

Good evening,

I recently switch from the Pixel 6 pro to the pixel 7 pro about 2 days ago. Since then I have been having issues sending text to one contact so far. I always get the message above.

How can I fix? I tried clearing cache, resetting the phone, turning off and on the chat features and non seem to work.

Welcome to Android Central! Is that person using an iPhone or Android phone? Does it matter if you're using wi-fi calling or regular cell signal?

I've had this exact issue since switching from spectrum with a 6a to TMobile with a new 6a.
Issue happens only with my husband.
Also have some contacts that say chatting but do not have the lock/encrypted.
Ive contacted my provider, tried to contact Google and alot of things on other forums.
Clear cache storage , remove app and carrier services, remove Google account. So incredibly frustrated.
Appreciate any help you can provide.

Welcome to Android Central! It's probably some glitch with RCS Chat. Open your Messages app, tap your profile pic, then Messages Settings>Chat Features. does it say "Connected" on both your phone and your husband's phone?
