When someone who has an IPhone sends me a text with a picture they come through as a video and I cannot download and keep the pictures. How can I fix so I can keep pictures?

What phone/messaging app are you using? I've often found of late that using Hangouts as my messaging app gives me no issues communicating with iPhone users either through standard SMS, group MMS or sending/receiving images.
