I recently bought a HTC Desire 310 and realised that I can't install apps on the SD card by default. I want to know if there is a way to downgrade to Android 4.1.2?

It looks like it shipped with 4.2. If that is the case, since it started on 4.2, you cannot flash a 4.1 ROM on it.
