Galaxy Note 2 KitKat 4.4.2 - broken email client (and more)

Immediately after finishing the Verizon 4.4.2 "update," if I try to reply to an email on the stock client, the "To" address disappears, and one cannot enter it manually - choosing a contact is the only option. Anyone seen this? Any solution? (In general, the update creates many problems - don't do it!)

Take the phone to a Verizon service center and ask them to reflash 4.4.2. (If that doesn't fix it, they'll have to uninstall the stock email app and reinstall it. But, since the problem is due to their OTA update, it's their problem to fix it.)
