The sim card from "drowned" blackberry inserted in new Samsung note 3 but I can't find "passwords, memos or to do lists" supposedly transferred....

Blackberry and Samsung use different OS' to run software, so those types of things may not have been able to transfer over. If you are using a cloud based service for those things, such as Google Keep, then download the Keep App and log into your account. Your saved items will sync to the Note 3.
