Switched off for 2 weeks. Power drained to 1%
Went on hols for 2 weeks. Switched off my Galaxy 10.1 tablet completely with about 30%power left. Came home, switched it on and battery had drained to 1 %. How is that possible? Lucky I only had 2 weeks hols. Can anyone throw light on this please? It was switched off for goodness sake! How could that happen?

Lithium-ion batteries lose charge even when your device is turned off.
Losing 29% in two weeks is unusual, however.
How old is your device?

Batteries do degrade and loose capacity. Several factors can affect this like how many charge cycles the battery has gone through.
Also storage in a hot area. Let me guess. The AC was not running ion your home while away for two weeks. If it got very hot in your house while you were gone that would contribute...

Some other factors to consider is if the software reads the battery life correctly ( I have had a couple occasions) where my device read my battery incorrectly, as evidenced by a different reading after a reboot of greater than 5%. There are some good battery apps on google play. My question is, "how is your battery life while the tablet is on?" And, "has the drain happened more than once?" Good luck!

You know what, we had a heatwave when I was away. Windows locked. No air. I`be only had the tablet for less than a year. No battery problems. Except a small battery loss overnight. Next time I am away, I'll make sure it's on 100% charge. I hope no damage has been done.
