It may be good to switch to a proven phone for now.

When work is done on masts (towers here in the US) it may be to roll out new equipment. Sometimes that shuffles the frequencies around so there is enough bandwidth to run various classes of data service (2G vs 3G vs LTE traffic). Sometimes it is new comm protocols and your settings need to be updated deep inside the phone settings. Without asking the carrier what might have changed, it is hard to know.
Its fine for every other phone in the house though :/ Its annoying as this phone is very new!

Is there anything I might be able do that will cure it or make it better? Leave the phone off for a while or something?

Is it possible the mast may not be working proper still?

Henry, Have you gone to a store for Orange and asked them for help? Bring your device in case they need to tweak some settings...
