How to turn off notification sounds when using blue tooth head set?

When I am talking on the phone using headset the notification tone comes on the headset and makes it difficult to hear the convo, is there a way to turn that off?

You can probably use an App such as Tasker to disable notifications when you are on a call. Aside from that, I don't think there is a way to do that locally without an app.
