Samsung S3 has a glitch - screen then switches off

[AC Question]

Had my Samsung Galaxy S3 for about a year and a half after it was handed down to me by my dad because he didnt use it so i'm on payg so i cant ask for a replacement
my phone works fine then all of a sudden the screen appears to have glitch lines on it as though it's malfunctioning and then switches on, so i have to charge it in order for it to turn on again and it starts recharging at 0%
ive tried a new battery for it but nothing has worked
any suggestions?

Could you go into Settings>Battery, then touch the grey battery graph to expand it, then send a screenshot to give an idea of how your battery is behaving?

No. Clearing the cache partition does not erase personal data. Just make sure you don't select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
