The status icons at top of display now shifted themselves from right side to left side

I didn't ask the phone to do so but group of status icons (signal strength, bluetooth, 4G, battery) at top of display have shifted themselves from right side to left side. Also the volume bar (which appears when you briefly press the top side button) is also 'reversed'. How did that happend and how to reverse it back?

Did you try a restart?

Yes, did a cold restart. Same thing. Phone is a Motorola Droid Ultra (< 3 months old) on Verizon network.
