HTC one x wont fully turn on and keeps restarting

my htc one has been playing up, when i leave the phone off charge nothing happens at all but when i plug it in it turns on, vibrates and the red light to say its charging comes up and the screen comes on to the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen as it always has done but after as few seconds it switches itself off and repeats that circle without me pressing the power button. ive tried pressing power and down on the volume but the screen only comes up for a few seconds then and says that the power is too low. when it first started this i had about 30% and it just shut off and kept turning on and off until the phone die, any help would be great

The battery might be failing. You could try replacing it, although this is a little challenging, since the battery isn't meant to be user-removable. Just search Google for "HTC One X replace battery."
