Grand 2 is not installing updates

My grand 2 jst recieved an update of 4.2.2 but after downloading the update while installing it..the process freezes and the android falls down showing error. Plz tell me how to fix it.

Is the phone stock or rooted? This almost sounds like what happens with a rooted device running the stock OS but with a custom recovery installed.
