AOL Email App on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

When I first got my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, I used the AOL email app regularly with no problem. Now, it takes FOREVER to update and show new emails. And, when it does show new emails, they are a bit old (like by several hours). When I view my AOL mail via my laptop or via the internet on my phone, they are all more recent than what I see via the phone's AOL app. I started just going to the internet on my phone to view my AOL mail, but I really prefer using the AOL app instead. Can someone help by telling what to do to fix my AOL app problem?
