headphones for Droid Maxx

When I plug my headphones in my Droid Maxx, it only plays out of one ear. I've tried two different sets of ear buds and experienced this issue for both. I've tried cleaning the jack with a paper clip but there was nothing. Has anyone experienced this and/or know how to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! A paper clip might not be adequate. Try using a damp toothpick, or a Q-tip moistened with rubbing alcohol. Or use a can of compressed air to blow out the jack.
