I went to take a nap this morning and set my alarm, and when i woke up with my alarm going off I noticed that my scree had gone black and I could not interact with it. The buttons all seem to work to some extent, however I read online that if I hold the power button for 8-10 secs that my galaxy should shut off, and it didn't. However the phone still recieves text messages and I have my blinking blue light in the corner. I would rather not factory reset my phone so any ideas? Its a Verizon S3.

No, I hadn't and that seemed to have done the trick. Honestly, I'm surprised I hadn't thought of that myself. Thanks man
