NotifierPro doesn't change sounds

I just bought a Hisense Sero 7 Pro. It's my first adventure with Android. I'm a news junkie, and I get frequent notifications from AP Mobile and CNN Mobile. I want to give them different alert tones, so I tried NotifierPro Free. It didn't cause any problems but it didn't allow changing the tones, so I bought NotifierPro (the paid version). In NotifierPro, for both apps, I've chosen "Ring on Notification" and changed the ringtones so each is different.

The problem I'm having is that the alert tones I'm getting for both are still the system default (TaDa). Is there something I'm missing?

I posted this on the developer's website, but it looks like they don't update frequently.
