MLB At Bat audio troubles with S5

[AC Question]

I recently upgraded from a S3 to an S5. I listen to baseball games fairly often through the MLB at bat app. After switching the s5, the audio feed is constantly dropping for a second or two and reporing "checking network". It is doing it on a wifi or 4G. I had no trouble with my S3 on the same networks.

I wonder if it improved with subsequent updates.
