Can you try a battery pull to see if that resets it?

Are you trying to turn off your phone completely or just the display so that it doesn't drain your battery? Does your power button not work?

Also, is it staying on only when plugged in and charging? If this is the case, go to Settings>Developer Options​, and uncheck "Stay Awake."
