My HTC Rythm cell was working fine, the next day the screen blacked out. How can I get my text message extracted or retrieved? The text has important info I need. I was not expecting my phone to to die

Have you allowed the device to fully charge then try powering back on?

If you are able to connect to a computer and it is recognized, you may be able to use HTC's sync manager to pull those text messages. Otherwise, the device may be bricked/inoperable and the text messages can't be retrieved.
