Android TV Box problem - x and o

[AC Question]

I have an android tv box and when I turn it on there is a large X and an O (as in searching) on the screen.
The AV reset doesn't work for this issue.
Not sure what to do.
HELP!!!!

Welcome to Android Central! Can you tell us the brand and model of the device, or is it a totally generic no-name device? If the latter, it may be difficult for anyone to help.

It is an MX

There must be a model number somewhere--can you find it? I'm still not optimistic that we'll be able to find any kind of support documents on the web, though ...

I can only find a sticker on the bottom: c4:4e:ac:05:0c:96

That sounds like a MAC address. The best place to find the model name/number is in Settings>About Device​.
