I recently switched from an iPhone to an HTC (and yes, I've already ensured my phone is deregistered from iMessage, I called it in as well), and have since been completely unable to send texts to anyone or receive texts from anyone. If it helps, my service is with AT&T. I find this problem very frustrating and would very much appreciate any help in figuring out what the problem is and how I can solve it. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have any other iOS devices like an iPad? If so, did you make sure to deactivate iMessage there? Check out this article, which suggests going to supportprofile.apple.com to see if any devices are still listed there.

    OP here, just registered.
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I disabled iMessage on my iPad too. I called Apple about it and they say the phone number is no longer registered to iMessage. I've reset my apple id password as well. Nothing I've done has worked so far.
