AC Question

Basically, I just got this phone, took it out of the box and when I turn it on everything is multicoloured grainy - I cant even see the background picture. The screen has been untouched and boxed so it cant be dropped/pressure damage.
What can I do to fix this?

Thanks

Katie Marie

A picture of how it looks would help a lot. But since this is a new phone, you wouldn't mind factory resetting it, I assume, since you should have nothing on it, right? If so, try going into Recovery Mode before booting up (can't really tell you how since you didn't specify a phone, but usually power + volume up button + some other button depending on your device do the trick) and selecting Factory Restore from there and see if it works.

BUT, in my opinion, if this is a new device, don't chance it. Return it if it's not working and get a replacement. Usually saves you a lot of pain down the road.

Sorry, in my frustration I forgot to mention the phone

It is a samsung galaxy s5. I would take a picture however all you can see is a white screen. The screen is actually white however it is grainy, just static like when an old style antenna TV has no reception.

Yup, that's no bueno. Try the factory reset if you must use this phone, but I'd recommend to just get the Warranty replacement. In the S5 recovery mode should be available with pressing and holding Power + Home + Volume Up. If it doesn't work, try the same but with Volume Down (I always get those mixed up and can't remember which one triggers Recovery Mode and which one triggers Safe Mode)
