I put all apps into folders, now newly download apps don't appear

A

AC Question

I am using a Galaxy Tab 2 running 4.4.2 OS.
To conserve space, I created folders within the 'all applications' menu. Forgive me if that's the correct name, I'm referring to the list of applications displayed when clicking the apps button in the bottom right corner of the dashboard/desktop.
The folders created were placed in separate tabs, so that 'all applications' displayed some tabs with apps only and some tabs with folders only. After moving all applications to folders, there were no longer any tabs for apps only.
Now when I install a new app, it does not appear in the 'all applications' list. I can find the new app via the list of downloaded apps, but I can't find a way to have it displayed with 'all applications'.
How do you add app-only tabs back to the 'all applications' list?
If that is not possible, is there a way to restore the 'all applications' list to the default state without resetting the entire device?

Thanks for any assistance.
