Samsung New battery doesn't work.

Hi. I've just bought a new battery EB464358VU for my GT-S6102. When I install the battery I get a picture of a battery with a small blue triangle. Inside the triangle is a photo of a battery with a strike ' / ' through it. And that's it. The battery doesn't charge and when I try to turn the phone on I only get the samsung logo then it goes off. Any advice please.

Welcome to Android Central! How long did you try charging the battery before turning the phone on? Try leaving it on a wall unit for at least 6 hours or so, undisturbed. If it still doesn't turn on, the battery is probably defective. Where did you buy it? Try to exchange or return it.

I actually only charged it for 4 hours because every minute or so my phone made a buzzing noise and showed the picture again ( phone is turned off) and I was worried it may damage my phone. I bought the battery from Ebay but it does look genuine and I don't want to pull off the label to check just in case I have to return it.

Counterfeits can be very convincing. The fact that you bought it through eBay increases that suspicion. See if you can return it.
