I have a LG G2 which is 1080P. But youtube only has a 720P option. I'm now running cyanogenmod and it still does this. I would love to be able to view youtube videos in 1080P! Anyone got any ideas on a fix?

Thank you Almeuit. I tried it on my Nexus 5, and did not get the option, and on my G3, and did get it....both as I had expected.

OP: I remember this being discussed in the N5 forum and as far as I remember nobody had the 1080p YouTube option.

Also OP... If you simply just don't see it the YouTube app for your phone may not allow it. The screen can be 1080p but the app has to be updated to allow that kind of play. The G3 recently got an update I believe of finally support it since it didn't right off the bat.

YouTube is in the process of updating/rolling out an updated video player that can play 1080p content but it's a slow rollout that is taking time. For any questions please contact Google. ^DT

You wouldn't happen to have a D801 would you? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks and haven't found an answer. I've seen it mentioned in a few places that T-Mobile versions of certain phones don't allow 1080p youtube playback. The funny thing is that I can't see the the 480p option either. It's Auto/240p/360p/720p and that's it. T-mobile G2.

Yeah I got a solution downgrade youtube I have The same problem.
I have a sony xperia m2 which I used to watch 1080p videos on now because I update youtube I no longer can. And I tried uninstalling updates for youtube but youtube disabled classic so now im stuck with new Youtube but more sucky so if you want advice with old phones use old 'SOFTWARE' its best because old phone hardware cant keep up so... Keep in mind ok unless you want slow dissapointment from ur phone keep out of date only update google services and even os once updated you cant revert back unless you get a custom rom ok Hope this advice helps.
