AC Question

Hi There,

I am facing a very major issue with my Motorola Moto G recently (May not be Device Specific though): The WiFi & Mobile Network of my phone are getting turned on automatically. Every time I deactivate both, but get activated again & again even after repetitive deactivation. Even though the mobile data status is showing “Off”, it still gets activated in the background, and this caused me to lose my entire mobile balance as I don't have Net Pack in my mobile. This not only is draining away my battery but also causing a loss in my mobile currency balance, because the mobile data is consuming bandwidth. I believe this is a Virus or Malware Attack.

I scanned my phone with top AV Programs like CM Mobile Security, Avast Mobile Security, AVG, Eset, 360, etc. but sadly none of them have detected any issue even though I have updated the virus database for each. CM Mobile Security had previously detected a virus or threat called "Towelroot". When it removed or quarantined it, the issue got fixed at that point of time. But when I booted my phone to recovery, for some reason (Even though I selected "Normal Power-up"), I started facing this issue again. I was wondering if the virus that was previously quarantined by CM Mobile Security has somehow got access to my Phone again, but when I checked the quarantine, I found that it was still present in the quarantine.

Unable to get any solution, I have finally decided to do a complete factory reset, and everything seemed to have got fixed post that, initially (I was able to power off the Wifi and Mobile Data manually). But now again the issue started showing up. I am in a panic already as I am feeling totally helpless. Please please help me out.

Thanks a lot in advance. Your assistance would be highly appreciated.

No, it was brand new... I don't know what is wrong with it.. as no virus or Trojan or any other vulnerability is detected by any of the anti-virus programs. What should I do now?? :(

Well if Towelroot was on there I would return it because someone rooted it before you got it. Towelroot is a commonly used universal root method.

Ya I completely agree with you. But the phone was brand new and I rooted it myself. May be the steps that I had taken to root it was called "Towelroot method" or it was another virus with the same name as Towelroot.

But why all of a sudden I am facing this issue which until now was working flawlessly? I mean I rooted my phone to get the best out of it (That is the sole purpose of rooting I believe, right? ) which was working fine until now.

Can you please suggest me a way to manually fix the Wifi problem? For the mobile data, i figured out a way for now. I have put a limit (0 mb) so now the mobile data is off. But I am not able to fix the Wifi problem. Can you please tell me if there is any App or Way to figure out which all programs are controlling my phone's Wifi connection? May be I can fix that then....

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I have not had trouble like this myself and don't have much to offer other than the knowledge of Towelroot. But I bet someone here will good luck.

The same problem in my mobile is solved with help of customer support (1800102234424) by following below step.
Follow the below step.
step 1:
To Enable Safe Mode
1. Press the Power key
2. Touch and hold Power off
3. Touch OK when Reboot to safe mode appears
4. Phone will reboot and Safe Mode will appear in bottom left corner
5. While in Safe Mode, launch apps one at a time to identify the app causing the problem
6. Remove the app that causes the problem from the device (most important step, remove the app that you are not using regularly, some of these app may induce the activation)
To remove an application:
Touch Image > Play Store > Menu > My apps or setting>apps>downloaded
Touch the application that you want to remove
Touch Uninstall, then confirm by touching OK
After you have identified and removed the application simply power cycle the device to disable safe mode.

facing same type of trouble

Hi,

I am also getting same type of problem on my Galaxy Chat. wifi & mobile data are getting automatically powered on although i turning it off.

Please help me out from this problem

Hi
I am happy to share this solution. Its because of the third party unknown app. Its get installed automatically while we browsing the net and then it asks the admin access permission . It won ' t leave you until you accept it. So just find out that app and uninstall. For your info please check in the settings -> security -> device administrators and find that harmfull app , uncheck it. Finally uninstall. Works 100 percent .
Hope it will help you.
