phone won't respond after prompted upgrade on Samsung Galaxy S5

I have a Samsung galaxy s5 and I was prompted to perform an upgrade. After doing so it doesn't respond to touch and the side button no longer functions as before as well as the home key. Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas?

Does your phone do anything if you press the buttons or touch the display? Have you tried rebooting the device?
