Welcome to Android Central! What phone do you have? Is that the exact message that showed up: "Unfortunately, Internet has stopped"? That most likely refers to the stock browser. You could try going to Settings>Apps>All, selecting Internet (sometimes called Browser), and tapping Clear Cache--then try opening it again.
