nexus 4 keyboard not working

My mom's nexus 4 has been acting up since this morning. It uses random letters and they don't always work...what should she do?

Welcome to Android Central! Does the keyboard itself still look normal? Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Keyboard, and Clear Cache. If that doesn't help, try also Clear Data, although this may clear any personal dictionary she might have had.

If that still doesn't help, try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: Reset: Google Nexus 4 | T-Mobile Support
