not receiving incoming mobile calls

I have a samsung galaxy s4 mini which was working fine until today I noticed that people weere texting me to say they can't get through. I'm receiving calls from landlines but not mobiles. If anyone calls me from a mobile the line goes dead. texts are fine, mobile data is working, I have a good signal too. o2 guru said the sim is faulty and they are posting out a new one but with the 3 day wait for it to arrive and the weekend it could be up to 6 days before my problem is resolved. Can anyone tell me if you are familiar with this problem and is the guru correct about the faulty sim? in my experience o2 gurus don't always know the answers, Amanda

It probably is a carrier issue since you're getting calls but not texts... Just to be ensure... Check and ensure blocking mode isn't on or anything of that nature.
