Help with ZTE Majesty WiFi & F33 Sports DVR

I recently purchased an F33 Sports DVR camcorder to work with my ZTE Majesty's WiFi. It's running Android 4.1.2 , up to date & functioning fine. The F33 requires an app called WiFi SmartCam to connect using WiFi, but the app cannot detect the camcorder. Anybody else run into this problem? Since the app cannot detect the camcorder wirelessly, I also cannot select the 'setup' button to manually enter in the model info. Very frustrating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not sure how a camcorder would connect and communicate via wi-fi with your phone. If you used your phone as a wi-fi hotspot, then you could conceivably connect your camcorder to the internet by using the phone's hotspot--but it won't communicate with the phone this way. That's what Bluetooth is for. Are you sure it isn't a Bluetooth connection?

Is this "Wifi SmartCam" program an actual Android app, or a program for your Windows or Mac computer?
