GS4 battery won't charge

[AC Question]

Got it 7 months ago and now it won't charge. At first I tried my charger with my wife's S4 and it worked so it's not the charger. Then I tried plugging it into my laptop and it charged somehow (after hours!!), so I thought it must be software related. Now it won't charge even that way. Took battery out and put in her phone and it charges, so it's not the battery. Is there something software related I can try before I try to replace the port on it? Is my Lookout app backup good enough to cover all my info or what should I do instead? Thanks
