My Nexus 7 1st gen wifi model is stuck on the colored balls and will flash the Google screen occasionally. I never enabled debugging on it(never even connected it to the computer), I never rooted it, I run virus and malware scans daily, I set it down and two minutes later it was like this. I can get to the fastboot screen, I tried factory reset. It didn't work.

I have the eclipse program running, but the Mac I'm using doesn't even register that I have a device plugged into the computer so I can't even enable debugging or try to flash the system that way.
I'm a complete rookie at this, and all knowledge I have gained is from frantically searching other threads and sites for the past few hours trying to fix this.
