HTC Wildfire S not showing screen

[AC Question]

Yesterday, I was using my phone, when suddenly it started responding very slowly. I was pressing the volume buttons, but the volume took 2 minutes to show the change. I decided to restart my phone. When I did, the phone's screen went black(like in the usual way), but it did not come back. I have been trying to turn it on, but every time I remove the battery and put it on, and then hold the power button, the phone vibrates 2-3 times, and then nothing happens, apart from a yellow light blinking near the top of the phone(the same place where the orange indicator shows up when it is on charge). Can anybody please help me in identifying the problem and any possible solutions ?

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition: Reset: HTC Wildfire S | T-Mobile Support

If that doesn't work, try a new battery.
