With my galaxy s5, every time I click a link on Facebook etc. A new windows pops up until I have so many windows I need to go through and close them all. Is there a way to get my phone to not open a new windows, but use the old one to load the link?

That should be a setting in your browser. If you are using Chome they have dumb down the settings to the point you really have no choices, but other mobile browsers will likely give you options to open links in new tabs.
