gear 2 media controller issue

I recently bought a gear 2 and compared it to my s4. Everything seems to work well except for one thing, the media controller. The media controller won't let me do anything more than just seeing the album cover and changing the volume. I can't skip, rewind, or even play or pause music at all. This feature was one of the biggest reasons I spent 300+ on a watch and now I feel dissapointed. Can anyone help please?
