encryption

[AC Question]

Hello.... Very pleased and impressed with this tablet...After using an old Archos 2.2 you can imagine the quantum leap in technology. My question is.... I encrypted the tablet using a password but would now like to change this to fingerprint recognition. I have my fingerprint registered within the device but can't figure out to make the change ? Any help would be gratefully received.

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet do you have? You didn't mention it by name. I assume it's some Samsung tablet.

Usually, encrypting a device requires that you use either a PIN or password to unlock--and no other method. Encrypting is also irreversible, so I don't think you can go back to unencrypted in order to use the fingerprint scanner.
