Please help - Samsung DS3's broken touch screen and backing up to Kies
So my Samsung DS3's screen has a blue crack covering half the screen, I can still see the notifications on half the screen (the screen over the last few hours has been going into darker shades of blue).
I'm trying to back up personal data (pictures, music, contacts that may not be saved to sim) on the phone before I take it to vodafone for a repair, however I can't connect it to samsung kies as the connected device is locked but I cant enter the phone's password, because the touch screen is not working at all. I've tried taking the battery out and replacing it several times to no avail.
Any ideas please? At a bit of a loss. The computer and Kies are registering it's plugged in.

tried unlocking the phone plugged into computer through samsung website but that's still struggling to find a connection. Thanks for the link though
