I have a Samsung Galaxy S 3, I seem to be stuck on the lock screen, it won't allow me to do anything with the touch screen. I just got this phone a few days ago, it shouldn't be doing anything like this.
I've been experiencing some touch screen issues with this phone since I picked it up, but I haven't dropped it, it has not touched any water, the phone hasn't been abused or really even used at all.

Did you buy the phone new? Even if you did, the battery may be giving trouble....try to have it checked. Check also that your SIM is good, although I'm not sure that a duff SIM would have that effect.

If you are able to boot into Recovery Mode, try wiping the Cache Partition. Here's how if you're not sure:

My standard "repair" advice for a new phone -= bring it back and have it replaced. You shouldn't have to "repair" a new phone. (There's something known in the industry as "infant mortality" - a new device [of any kind - cellphones, toasters, cars] may fail after only a few hours of "in the field" use. That's what warranties are for.)
