Galaxy S 5 types on its own

I've had my S 5 for 4 months and for the past month it's been typing on its own at least once a day. I'll be texting and it's like the screen freezes then starts typing weird letters and symbols and stuff. When I try to restart it the screen freezes and I have to take the battery out for 15 seconds or so. Is there any way to make it stop? Also the last time it did it all my words that were saved somehow disappeared. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 5 | T-Mobile Support.

Another thing to try would be to unmount the SD card (in Settings>Storage) and remove it, then reboot. A corrupt card can cause problems.
